Notifications and alerts
Messenger iOS alerts you in a number of ways to new messages.

If your device is locked when you receive a new message or announcement about board materials, a notification appears on your lock screen.

If your device is unlocked when you receive a new message or announcement about board materials, a notification could appear as a banner or as a window.

Select this notification to open Messenger iOS - you may be prompted to unlock your device. If you use Messenger iOS for more than one board, you'll be taken directly to the board associated with the notification.
Note
You can prevent notifications from specific conversations using the Mute feature. For more information go to Managing conversation lists.

A numbered bubble on the Messenger iOS app icon displays how many unread messages are waiting for you across all of your Diligent Messenger sites.

To change the appearance of notifications on your device, go to the Settings icon on your home screen.

In the menu that appears, select Notifications.

Select Messenger from the list that appears.
You'll be presented with options that change the way Diligent Messenger presents notifications; for example, you could disable sound alerts, or change how the notification appears when your device is unlocked. The specific notification options available to you may depend on the version of iOS your device is using.
Note
Depending on your site settings, you may also receive email notifications for unread messages and announcements after a designated time. Contact your administrator or Customer Success Manager for more information.
