Adding, editing, and managing questions

Add and edit question elements - including titles, text, position, and features - before publishing your questionnaire.

Tip

  • Questionnaires must be in draft status to be edited.

  • To change a question type, delete the question and create a new one.

Add a question

  1. In Questionnaires, go to Questionnaire Manager.

  2. Go to the questionnaire, select the more options icon > Edit.

    Questionnaire builder opens.

    1. To add a question to an existing page, select the page and select one of two options:

      • Add subquestion to add a follow-up question based on an answer to a previous question. Sub questions can be triggered by an answer to a previous question or used to gather more detail.

      • Add question below to add a new question to the page.

    2. To add a question to a new page, select the new page icon and select Add page.

  3. Select the type of question from the Add question menu.

  4. Select Add.

Edit an existing question

  1. In Questionnaires, go to Questionnaire Manager.

  2. Go to the questionnaire, and select the more options icon > Edit.

    Questionnaire builder opens.

  3. Select the question you want to manage and select the edit icon .

    The question opens for editing.

  4. Make your changes.

  5. Select Save.

Delete a question

  1. Go to your question and select the delete icon .

    All data is removed permanently.

  2. Confirm Delete.

Additional question options

Configure additional question options when creating questions or by editing them later. Available options depend on the question type.

The options available will depend on the type of question.

  1. Select the question's edit icon .

    1. To add an ordered number to a question, select Numbered question.

    2. To add contrast to the title text, select Show title bar background.

    3. To link the response from one question to another question, select Linkable question.

    4. To ensure a question is answered, select Required question.

    5. To display the question and response field side-by-side on a page, select Show question text and answers on the same line.

    6. To make a question contingent on an answer to another question, select Make question contingent. This option only appears after a List question type.

    7. To move a question, select the move icon , hold the mouse, and then drag the question up or down the page into your preferred position.

  2. Select Save, to save your changes.
