Replacing documents in the Resource Center

This topic describes how to replace an existing Resource Center file with a new file, and how to move any existing director notes or annotations to the new file if desired.

  1. To replace a file in the Resource Center, drag the new file from your desktop to the file you'd like to replace.

    1. To replace the file without moving director notes and annotations to the new file, drop the new file in the Replace area.

    2. To access the option to move director notes and annotations from the existing file to the new file, drop the new file in the Replace with Options area.

  2. If you selected Replace with Options, a dialog appears. To move any director notes and annotations from the existing file to the new file, enable the Move Notes & Annotations to New Document option.

  3. If the new file is an Excel document, an Include All Worksheets option will also appear in the Replace Document dialog. To include all worksheets from the selected document, enable Include All Worksheets. To include only the worksheet that was active when you saved the document, disable this option.

  4. The Replace and Replace with Options functions are also available from the File menu, if you do not want to use drag and drop. Open the File menu and select your desired option to proceed.

    Note

Drag and drop is not available on Safari browsers. If you are using a Safari browser, follow Step 4 to access the Replace and Replace with Options functions, or use a Chrome or Edge browser.
