Data lineage

Data lineage allows you to trace the origin, flow, and transformation of data throughout its lifecycle. It provides a visual map of how data progresses from upload to final analysis and export, capturing each step to ensure trust and auditability. Key features include visual mapping, drill-down exploration, and real-time updates, with seamless integration into activity and export logs.

Data lineage can be accessed by all ACL AI Studio users.

Note

This procedure includes steps for both the new UI and old UI. Select the appropriate tab (New UI or Old UI) in this section based on your interface.
You can use the old UI until June 30, 2026. Starting July 1, 2026, the new UI will be the only available experience.

Steps

On the ACL AI Studio home page, select the dataset for which you want to view the data lineage.
On the Dataset summary page, from the left navigation, select Data lineage.

The Data lineage tracking page appears with a visual map of your data flow.
- Interactive nodes
  - Hover over any node to highlight the complete path of the data.
  - Select a node representing a source table or output table to open that table details page.
- Deleted tables
  - Select Show deleted tables to view the deleted tables in the lineage.
  - These table nodes are displayed only for reference and do not open a details page.

Steps

On the ACL AI Studio home page, from the list of datasets, select the View details button of the dataset for which you want to view the data lineage.
On the dataset details page, from the vertical three dots menu, select Data lineage.

The Data lineage tracking page appears with a visual map of your data flow.

  - Select a node representing a source table or output table to open that table details page.
- Deleted tables
  - Deleted tables remain visible in the lineage view for historical context.
  - These table nodes are displayed only for reference and do not open a details page.
