Understanding interactive heatmap

The Interactive Heatmap in AI Risk Essentials gives you a visual overview of your organization’s risk landscape. It displays a color-coded grid of risks based on impact and likelihood. It helps you understand your risk profile at a glance and identify where to act first.

What you see

  • Heatmap grid Risks are plotted by impact and likelihood.

  • Impact severity colors and their descriptions

    • Dark green - Very low Negligible effect, little to no financial loss, and no noticeable operational impact. Managed effortlessly.

    • Green - Low Minimal effect, minor financial losses, and slight operational disruptions. Managed routinely.

    • Yellow - Medium Noticeable but manageable disruptions, moderate financial losses, and temporary operational issues. Requires structured attention.

    • Red - High Severe damage, significant financial losses, and major operational disruptions. Needs immediate attention.

    • Dark red - Very high Catastrophic damage, critical financial losses, and widespread operational failures. Requires urgent and extensive action.

  • Likelihood severity colors and their descriptions

    • Dark green - Very low Highly unlikely to occur, with an extremely low probability. Requires no immediate attention.

    • Green - Low Unlikely to occur, with a low probability. Requires minimal attention.

    • Yellow - Medium Moderate chance of occurring, with a reasonable probability within a foreseeable period. Requires monitoring.

    • Red - High Likely to occur soon, with a high probability. Requires proactive measures to mitigate.

    • Dark red - Very high Almost certain to occur in the near term, with an extremely high probability. Requires immediate and focused action.

  • Risk score severity colors and their descriptions

    • Dark green - Very low The risk poses minimal concern and can be managed effortlessly without requiring intervention.

    • Green - Low The risk presents a minor challenge and is unlikely to cause significant disruptions. Periodic monitoring is sufficient.

    • Yellow - Medium The risk requires attention, as it has the potential to create noticeable but manageable issues. Proactive measures may be needed.

    • Red - High The risk could lead to serious consequences and requires active mitigation strategies to prevent escalation.

    • Dark red - Very high The risk is critical and demands immediate, focused action to minimize severe consequences.

  • Risk counts Each cell shows how many risks fall into that category.

What you can do

  • Click a value to see the filtered risks in the Risk library.

  • View risk scores and compare them to the heatmap distribution.

  • Use this view to decide which risks need mitigation plans.

Notes

  • The heatmap reflects the latest assessment results.

  • Manually adjusted scores may not always align with the heatmap view.

  • If no assessments are available, the heatmap will not populate.
