Templates: Handling export errors

Template exports may fail when required placeholders are missing or improperly formatted in your template file. The system requires specific placeholders in a specific order to process and validate templates correctly. When these placeholders are absent, incomplete, or contain syntax errors, the upload will be rejected to prevent system errors.

In order to ensure a successful export you will need to take the following actions to rectify the export error.

  1. Go to your Template manager and delete the original template.

  2. Open your template file on your device.

  3. Review the placeholder formatting to identify any issues. For more information, check the Important notes in Customizing a minutes template

  4. Verify mandatory placeholders are present.

    1. Ensure related placeholders are present.

    2. Ensure properties required for repeating placeholders are included.

    3. For repeating placeholders, check # for opening placeholders and / for closing placeholders are included.

    4. Check for spacing issues.

  5. Save the corrected template file and upload to the Template manager.

  6. Run the export again.
