Getting started with BoardEffect

The BoardEffect site lets you access your board materials from any web-connected device, via a web interface. You can create a new meeting, collaborate with board members, and update your profile information.

You can access your organization's BoardEffect site on the web after your system administrator has created your account.

Accessing BoardEffect

Before you access the application, ensure that the following prerequisites are met:

• You have your organization-specific BoardEffect URL. For more information, contact the System Admin. The format is <sitename>.boardeffect.diligentoneplatform.com or <sitename>.diligentoneplatform.com.

• You have accepted the invitation from the Diligent One System Admin.

• Your account is activated.

  Note

  If your BoardEffect account is not activated, when you select BoardEffect, the Account Activation dialog appears. Select the NOTIFY AND REQUEST ACTIVATION button so that the System Admin gets a notification to activate your account.

Account activation issues

Users occasionally experience issues activating their Diligent One Platform account. When a System Admin creates a user account, an email with the subject line “Activate your account” is automatically sent. However, some users either do not receive this email or have difficulty locating or accessing the activation link to set their password and complete the account setup.

What if I have not received the activation email?

• Check your spam or junk folder to ensure the activation email wasn’t filtered by your company’s email system.

• Confirm with your IT department that the sender address of notifications@diligentoneplatform.com is whitelisted and not being blocked.

• Contact your System Admin to have the activation email resent.

What if I cannot find or access the activation link?

• The activation email contains an embedded link that allows you to set your password and complete the account setup.

• If the link doesn’t work, try copying and pasting it into your browser’s address bar, or contact your System Admin for assistance.

• If the activation link doesn’t direct you to the correct page or you encounter any other issues, please contact our Support team.

Sign in to BoardEffect

If you use <sitename>.diligentoneplatform.com, you are directed to the Diligent One platform home page. To access BoardEffect, on the platform home page, under Boards & Governance, select BoardEffect. However, if you sign in using <sitename>.boardeffect.diligentoneplatform.com, you can directly go to the BoardEffect homepage.

Based on your organization’s authentication method, you can sign in to BoardEffect in one of the following ways:

• Standard authentication Login using your email and password

• Custom domain If your organization uses single sign on (SSO), you authenticate using a custom domain.

BoardEffect home page

The BoardEffect home page gives you a consolidated view of all your current board-related information. From the home page, you can access consolidated views of online books, the member directory, messaging, and approvals, or go directly to a workroom for detailed work.
