Activate, copy, or reset a shared dashboard
Populated shared dashboards can be made visible to users or have their content copied to other shared dashboards. They can also be made inactive and be hidden from users, or have all added content cleared and return to a blank state.
Activate a shared dashboard
Once a shared dashboard has been populated with relevant content, it is ready to be shared -made active and so visible to related users.
To make a shared dashboard both active and visible for related users:
- Navigate to the Manage Shared Dashboards panel and locate the required shared dashboard.
- Select the checkbox against the shared dashboard name.
A dashboard visibility dialogue box displays.
- To cancel the action, select No.
To continue with the action, select Yes.
The dialogue box closes.
The shared dashboard is now active and visible to all users with the related user role. When they select the shared dashboard icon in their navigation bar, the active shared dashboard displays.
Note
The dashboard is read-only.
To make a shared dashboard inactive and hidden from related users:
- Locate the required dashboard in the Manage Shared Dashboards list and deselect the checkbox against its name.
A dashboard visibility dialogue box displays.
- To cancel the action, select No.
To continue with the action, select Yes.
The dialogue box closes.
The shared dashboard becomes inactive and is hidden from all users with the related user role. The shared dashboard icon is also hidden and no longer displays in their navigation bar.
Copy a shared dashboard
To reduce the amount of time taken to display the same content across different shared dashboards, it is possible to copy the content of one to several others in a single step.
To access the Copy Dashboard function:
- Navigate to the required shared dashboard (Admin Hub > Manage Shared Dashboard).
- Locate and select the required shared dashboard to display it on screen.
- Select the Options icon located in the top right-hand corner of the shared dashboard.
The related menu displays.
- Select the Copy Dashboard option.
The Copy Dashboard to additional Shared Dashboards dialogue box displays on screen.
- Select the checkbox(es) of the shared dashboard(s) that the content is to be copied to.
- Select Done.
A confirmation dialogue box displays on screen.
- To copy, select Yes.
The content is copied to and replaces the existing content on the selected shared dashboard(s).
A successfully copied confirmation message displays at the bottom of the screen.
- Navigate to the selected shared dashboard to view the copied content.
Reset a shared dashboard
In cases where it is necessary to clear all content from the dashboard currently displayed on screen, it is possible to do so without addressing each tile individually. A Reset Dashboard feature is available to clear all dashboard content in one step.
To access the Reset Dashboard function:
- Navigate to the required shared dashboard (Admin Hub > Manage Shared Dashboard).
- Locate and select the required shared dashboard to display it on screen.
- Select the Options icon located in the top right-hand corner of the shared dashboard and select the Reset Dashboard option.
A confirmation dialogue box displays on screen.
- To cancel the reset, select No. To continue with the reset, select Yes.
The confirmation dialogue box closes.
Existing content displayed on the shared dashboard is cleared.
A message displays at the bottom of the screen, confirming the resetting.
