AI document Summary
With AI Document Summary, you can get information on a document's content directly from Entities.
AI document summary uses AI to generate quick summaries of documents on the detail page in Entities, so you can review content without opening the file.
For documents with more than 10 pages or 12 000 characters, AI Document Summary creates a more complex summary divided into sections to accurately represent the documents.
You can generate up to 10 summaries simultaneously.

AI Document Summary is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) feature. For information on how AI features use Entities data, refer to Entities AI transparency notice.

AI enhancements are available to clients with the Entities Platform package and clients who joined the Entities AI Early adopter program. For more information, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Administrators have access to AI features by default. For regular users, AI features are inactive by default. Before you can use them, your organization's administrator must provision the features for you.
AI Document Summary in classic Entities
AI Document Summary works from the following areas to give you an overview of the contents of any document uploaded there:

- Find the document you want to summarise.

From the Options menu
or the AI Document Summary column, select Summarize document.
AI Document Summary works in the background. The process may take up to 10 minutes. When the AI summary is ready, you receive a pop-up message.

To view the AI-generated summary, in the AI Document Summary column, select Open, or from the Options menu
, select Open AI Summary.
The AI Document Summary window opens.
- Optionally, to create a new summary of the document, select New Summary. To delete the summary, select Delete.
AI document summary in modernized Entities

In modernized Entities, select Documents.
You can also open an entity record and select the Documents tab. -
From the list, find the document that you want to summarize.

Select the More
option for that document and choose Summarize document. - When the summary is ready, select Open from the AI document summary column to view the summary or choose Open AI summary from the More menu.

Select New summary to regenerate the summary from the AI document summary panel as needed to improve it.
Troubleshooting upload errors
If an error message appears instead of Ready or Processing, try the following:

File size or page limit The document is too large. Upload a smaller version or remove pages.

Too many requests Wait a few minutes and try again.

Unsupported format Convert the file to PDF, DOCX, DOC, or RTF, and upload it again.

Generic error Wait for a few minutes and try again. If the problem persists, contact your administrator.
Language considerations
For optimal results, use source documents in English. You may also try summarizing documents in Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese with caution. You can use AI Document Summary on documents in other languages, but the accuracy of the results may vary.
AI summaries are generated in the language the administrator has set for Entities in System Options.

For optimal performance and usability, AI Document Summary has the following limitations:
- The following file formats are supported: DOC, DOCX, PDF, RTF.
- The maximum file size is 10 MB.
- You can generate up to 10 summaries simultaneously.
