World search
Selecting the World Search option will display as an interactive world map. World Search can be used to search for all entities by geographical area.
Select the required continent/country/state/province to return a list of entities located there, or use the dropdown menu. Individuals and Other Entities need to be marked as a resident in the area to be included in results returned.
Let's take a look at the various areas.
Filters
A set of filters sit along the top of the map. Use the available options to refine the results returned.
Select the Filter icon to access advanced filter options.
View
A map of the world displays in the main View area of the screen.
Hover over a location to reveal a country's name.
Located in the top right-hand corner of the map are controls to either zoom in, navigate across or reset the view to a global perspective.
Located above the map are View options.
- Select the dropdown menu to change to a particular continent view.
The Show Entity Location checkbox works in tandem with the entity type selected to highlight the location recorded against each entity record.
Entity list
Beside the map view sits the Entity List. The list highlights how many of the defined entities exist in each country.
A change in entity type will be reflected in the Entity Type column.
If the Show Entity Locations checkbox is also selected, the countries recorded against the selected entity type will be highlighted in the map.
Access the world search
To access the World Search directly:
- Select the World Search icon in your Global Banner, or navigate to Company Record > Company Details > Main Details (section).
- In the Country field, select the Globe icon located to the right of the screen.
The World Search opens and displays the country listed in that field (for example, America).
Entity details
Once a specified country has been located in the map, it is possible to view the entities associated with it by selecting the country itself.
For certain countries, selecting them will open up a secondary level of regional selection. For example, selecting the United States will display a State view of the country.
And selecting Australia will display a regional view of the country.
At the secondary level, selecting a location will display a list of the related entities for the selected area.
Country grouping
It is also possible to apply a user defined Country Grouping filter to the map.
- Navigate to System Tools > List Manager > Country Groupings.
- Select New.
The Country Groupings wizard displays.
- Enter Quick Reference into the QuickRef field and a title for the grouping into the Description field.
- Select Next.
The Countries screen displays.
- Select the countries that are to form the group by selecting their respective checkboxes.
- Select Finish.
The wizard closes and the new Country Grouping is at the bottom of the Country Groupings list.
- Navigate back to the World Search.
- From the Within filter dropdown menu, select the new Country Grouping.
If the countries selected to form part of the group have entities located in them, they are highlighted in the map and are display in the Entity List.
