Mapping assets to controls in Frameworks

You can map assets directly to controls in Frameworks. This enables granular asset scoping when controls are imported into Projects. See Importing Controls.

Map assets to one or more controls

  1. Open Frameworks.

  2. Select an objective.

  3. Select Manage associations.

  4. In Select controls, choose the controls you want to map assets to, and select Next.

  5. In Select asset types, choose the asset types you want to include, and select Next.

  6. In Map assets, select the specific assets to associate with each control, and select Next.

  7. Review the mappings.

  8. Select Confirm mapping.
The selected assets are now mapped to the selected controls.

Mapping behavior

  • Assets can be mapped to multiple controls.

  • Asset mappings are reusable across Projects.

  • When controls are imported into Projects, mapped assets are included automatically.

    Note

Updating the asset mapping for a control in a framework does not change the control-asset relationships that were already imported into a project. Within the project, you can choose which of the mapped assets to include during the scoping process, but you cannot change the mapping itself. If the mapping is updated to a control in the framework, you must import as a new control to use the updated asset mapping.

  • Project-level scoping does not modify the Frameworks mapping.
