Administrator Role – Suspend or Cancel Request

ELCM Administrators can Suspend or Cancel requests if they determine that the request should not be processed.

The suspension or cancellation of a request is actioned when in the Main Tab of the specific request. This situation may arise as the result of a request being rejected by an Approver.

Suspend

A pending request can be Suspended if the Administrator determines that there is a reason to put it on hold. The request can be actioned from Suspended the tab.

  • Resume - The workflow will resume from the current stage, setting the stage back to Pending.
  • Cancel - The request will be Cancelled and no longer active
  • Restart - The request will restart from the beginning of the approval stage. This may be done if there is new information that should be reviewed by all Approvers.

The request will be resubmitted.

All previous approvals will be marked as Historical.

A new request for approval will be sent out to the designated Approver.

If a request is Suspended, the Change Status will be marked as Suspended. The workflow is stopped and cannot proceed until the request is either Restarted or Resumed:

Resume

After a request has been suspended, selecting the Resume option will cause the workflow to resume from the current stage, setting the status back to Pending.

Restart

After a request has been suspended, selecting the Restart option will cause the request to start the approval process from the beginning. Select this option if new information is added that should be reviewed by all Approvers.

The request will be resubmitted.

All previous approvals will be marked as Historical.

A new request for approval will be sent out to Approver(s).

Cancel

After a request has been suspended, selecting the Cancel option will cancel the request so that it is no longer active. Cancelling a request will update the Change status to Cancelled and add a tab that will clearly indicate that the request is no longer active with information regarding the cancellation.

Restart

If a request has been cancelled, the option to Restart the request once more is available. Only an Administrator can restart a cancelled Request.
