Ireland Beneficial Ownership: Add or Update Status of Investigations
The Status of Investigations section is part of the New Beneficial Owners page in Diligent Entities. This section allows you to record the company's ongoing investigations during the process of identifying the beneficial owners. To record a Status of Investigations:

Open the required company record.

Navigate to Ownership > Beneficial Owners.

Select New.

Scroll down to the Status of Investigations section and select either Add New... Status of Investigations or the Jigsaw

A warning message displays that the record must be saved before statuses can be added. Select OK to save your record. The Status of Investigations Wizard opens.

Select the down arrow and select, for example, (Non Statutory) Ongoing Investigations – The company is taking steps to identify a beneficial ownership status.
Note
This status will not be printed on the Beneficial Ownership register.

In the Date From field, enter the date from which the status becomes applicable.

In the Date To field, enter the end date when the status selected above is no longer applicable, for example, the date after which the beneficial owners are officially identified.

Select Next. The Data Library Wizard opens.

Select Validate event, then update all records immediately. Alternatively, save the event as pending.

You can also select a Reminder date and select an Assigned To person in your company. Thus, Diligent Entities will generate a reminder for the selected person at the specified date. In addition, you can also enter your notes in the Notes field.
Note
The notes will not display on the register.

Select Finish to complete the update.

On the Beneficial Owners page, select Save to close the record.
Note
The statuses containing (Non Statutory) will not be printed on the register. Non-statutory statuses are not part of the legislation. These statuses are available in Diligent Entities to assist you in maintaining the beneficial owners records or adding supplementary information and so on.
The new entry or update to Status of Investigations is now included on the relevant company's Ownership > Beneficial Owners page. Select the Folder against the status field or the summary line to open the record to view or edit.
