Entering data

Learn more about what type of data you can record as well as about all the different ways to enter that information in the Entités app.

Entity types

Users of the Entités app can can record the following types of entities in the system:

• EntrepriseUne entreprise que vous possédez, gérez ou dont vous êtes responsable. Il vous incombe de vous assurer que les informations dont disposent les autorités, telles que le registre du commerce, concernant la société sont exactes et à jour.

• IndividuelUne personne physique. On peut citer par exemple un actionnaire ou une personne nommée.

• Autre entitéUne entité tierce qui n’est pas administrée dans le système. On peut citer comme exemples un administrateur de société, un actionnaire, une fiducie, un cotitulaire ou une succursale. Il n’est pas possible de désigner une entité au sein d’une autre entité, et une entité ne peut pas disposer de son propre capital social ni de ses propres actionnaires. En revanche, il est possible de désigner une autre entité au sein d’une société, et une autre entité peut être actionnaire.

• ComitéUn groupe de personnes désignées, dotées d’une autorité légale déléguée pour exercer une fonction ou atteindre un objectif spécifique. On peut citer comme exemples les comités d’audit, les comités d’investissement, les comités de surveillance ou les comités de pilotage. Les comités suivent un règlement qui définit leur mode de fonctionnement.

• PartenariatsType d’organisation commerciale composée d’au moins deux personnes qui acceptent de partager la gestion opérationnelle et les responsabilités en matière de bénéfices. Les sociétés en nom collectif se composent généralement de commandités et de commanditaires, de membres désignés et non désignés, ou de membres dirigeants et non dirigeants.

• BranchesRegistre des sites d’activité ou des bureaux supplémentaires situés dans une autre juridiction.

• Enregistrements dans la juridictionCeux-ci confèrent à une entreprise le droit d’exercer ses activités au sein d’une juridiction spécifique, telle qu’un État ou une région.

Quick references

Each entity type and address is assigned a unique the Entités app code called a quick reference. The application uses quick references as internal codes to ensure that records are unique:

By default, quick references are automatically generated and assigned when an entity or address is created. Alternatively, quick references can be entered manually and take the form of a more meaningful code, for example, a company number or an internal group coding system.

Entity tools

Wizards

The majority of information entered into the application is done with wizards. Wizards guide users through each step of an event in a simple and intuitive manner. Wizards prompt for information regarding a new event that is relevant to the current screen. Use wizards to create an event that requires history to be stored or forms to be produced.

Wands

When viewing details inside an entity record, the Wand icon provides quick access to the related wizard. This speeds up data entry, as the wizard already knows which entity the specified event relates to.

Options menu

The Options Menu, located to the right of entity listings, presents options relating to the specified entry that vary depending on whether the current view is inside or outside of an entity record. Generally, the Options Menu provides easy access to reporting or wand functionality.

Edit

The Edit button can be used to amend information, like information that has been entered incorrectly, or to update fields that do not require the recording of historical information, for example, management fields or compliance dates.

Date fields

Dates can be entered manually by typing in the numbers.

Icon	Name	Description
	Calendar	Opens a calendar from which the date can be selected.
	Today's Date	When selected, enters today's date. This can also be achieved by using the letter T on the keyboard.
	Unknown	Records an unknown date for historical events

Calculator

The calculator tool is used to enter numerical data into applicable fields. Select the icon to open the tool and enter the required numerical information.
