Alerts: 7, 11 and 12

Alerts 7, 11, and 12 are related to options set by the My Alerts within an Administrator's My Preferences area.

When a user selects to receive one or more of alerts 7, 11, or 12, they will need to set the parameters for each alert within the My Alerts area, located the in My Preferences area of Diligent Entities.

My Alerts is a Data Library Type called Database Change Subscription which is generally hidden by default so that users who aren't supposed to use it, are initially unable to see or access it.

Check visibility of Database Change Subscription Data Library

Note

System Tools can only be accessed and configured by users with Administrator rights.

To check whether or not the Database Change Subscription Data Library is hidden:

  • Navigate to: System Tools > Data Library > Data Library Types.
  • Scroll down to the Database Charge Subscription entry and search for an X against it In the Hidden column.

If the X is not present, the Data Library is visible/accessible to users.

If an X is present, the Data Library is hidden from users.

Note

Depending on the existing configuration of security, if the Data Library is visible, consider hiding it to prevent users without appropriate authority accidentally changing settings.

Check Connection to Security Groups

Note

System Tools can only be accessed and configured by users with Administrator rights.

Note

To configure My Alerts, the System Administrator must not be connected to any security groups. Connection to a security group will prevent the Administrator from viewing the relevant Data Library types and alerts, in addition to preventing editing (if required).

To check whether the user with Administrative rights is connected to a security group:

  • Navigate to: System Tools > System Security > Users.
  • Scroll through the list of users to locate and open the appropriate/your user profile.
  • Navigate to: Change User Preferences > Next > Security.
  • Scroll through the Security Groups to ensure that no checkboxes are selected.

If any checkboxes are selected and those security groups are REQUIRED for any reason, create a new account/user profile to continue.

If any checkboxes are selected and those security groups are not required, deselect them all, select Next, then Finish button.

Once conformation of no connection to a security group is achieved, you can begin to set up Alerts.
