Clone a cap table

Use the cap table cloning feature in Diligent Equity to run scenarios on an existing cap table, helping you make investment decisions. The cloned cap tables have no connection to the existing fund and can be edited to test your scenario. Cloned cap tables are visible to all Equity Invest users who have access to the original.

Prerequisite

You must be an Owner or Stock Admin in Equity Invest to have access to the Cloned captables feature.

Create a clone

There are two ways to access the cap table view from your Invest account:

  1. From the Funds tab:

    1. Go to your Diligent Equity Invest account and select the Fund tab and scroll to the bottom of the page.

    2. Navigate to the company whose cap table you want to view and select the Access cap table icon .

      You will be redirect to the company's dashboard.

  2. From the Companies tab:

    1. Go to your Diligent Equity Invest account and select the Companies tab.

    2. From the drop down menu select the company whose cap table you want to view.

    3. Select the Actions button and View Cap Table from the menu.

      You will be redirect to the company's dashboard.

Now you are ready to clone your cap table.

  1. Go to the top toolbar and select Cloned Captables.

    A pop-up opens.

  2. Select Clone Actual Captable.

    Note

    If you have already cloned cap tables for this company these will appear in a list. You can choose a pre-exisiting clone or create a new one.

  3. Enter a name for your cap table.

    The system will generate a name with "Clone <version number>" which you can change. However you cannot use an existing name.

  4. Select Clone captable.

    The cloned dashboard opens and you can start editing your scenario.

  5. Select Save record to save your work so others can view it.

Tip

Cloned version appears beside the cap table name in the top left hand corner of your dashboard to indicate you are working on a cloned cap table.

To exit the clone select Exit clone version from the toolbar, you will go back to the actual dashboard

Delete a clone

  1. In your cap table view select Cloned Captables.

  2. Select the bin icon .

    A window opens asking you to confirm you want to delete the clone.

  3. Select Delete to remove it permanently from the list.
