Record a Reserved Company Name
You can reserve a proposed name for a new company or an existing company intending to change its name with the Companies Registration Office (CRO) Ireland for up to 28 days.
Note
Business (Trading) Names cannot be reserved. Refer to Reserve Company Name for more information.
Once you have reserved a name with the CRO, you can record the name reservation in Diligent Entities by completing the steps below. When you submit the A1 form to the CRO, the name reservation is part of the filing.

Open the incorporation record and select Data Library > General > Name Reservation > New.
The New: Name Reservation page displays.

In the Summary section, leave the type unchanged, select a status and assign responsibility of the record to someone.

Complete the Name Reservation section.
Field Name
Description
Name
Enter the proposed company name including the legal identifiers such as Ltd.
Note
Ensure that your proposed name is correctly spelled when entered, as an incorrect spelling can result in either the wrong name being registered or the name reservation being rejected by the CRO.
Country
Select Ireland from the list.
Document Number
Enter the Name Reservation Number provided by CRO upon acceptance of the name reservation.
From Date
Enter the start date for the reservation period that was provided by the CRO upon acceptance of the name reservation.
To Date
Enter the end date for the reservation period that was provided by the CRO upon acceptance of the name reservation.
Notes
Use this field to capture any additional details regarding the name reservation.
Attachments
This section is not applicable to the name reservation process. To attach supporting documents to the submission, upload files using the Incorporation Attachments (IE) data library.
Note
The Document Number, From Date, and To Date automatically update when the form is e-filed and the name is approved.

Select Save.
The details are saved and the new name reservation data library is created.
