Set up multi-factor authentication

Multi-factor authentication is an extra layer of protection for your data room, making unauthorized access difficult.

Prerequisites

Download and install an authenticator app on your mobile device. Open the app store on your device, search for "Authenticator", and then download and install the approved app.
Register a mobile device with your Diligent Data Room account.

In your data room go to your profile icon and select Profile from the menu.
Select the Multi-factor authentication check box.

A time-limited PIN is sent to the registered mobile phone or your email address.
Locate the 6-digit authentication PIN on your device or email.
and enter it in the Secure PIN Authentication field in Diligent Data Room.
Select OK.

You will see a dialog called Pair mobile device for security code authentication. This contains the QR code.
Open the authenticator app on your mobile device and select the plus icon + to add an account. If asked, you should authorize the app to use your device’s camera.
Hold the device in front of your laptop or desktop screen as if taking a photo of the screen.

Tip

Make sure that all the QR code is visible within the app’s camera window. The authenticator app will automatically scan the QR code and display a 6-digit security code.
Enter the security code from your authenticator app into the field on your computer screen.

A confirmation message appears and your device is successfully paired.

In your data room go to your profile icon and select My profile from the menu.
In the Sign-in information panel on your profile, go to Security select the X icon next to Device paired. You will be asked to provide a security code. This is one of the 6-digit numbers generated by your device's authenticator app.
Open the authenticator app on your device and find the current code for your Diligent Data Room account.
Go back to Diligent Data Room and enter the valid code in the Security code field.
Select OK.
Remove the unpaired account from your authenticator app.
