Administrator Dashboard, Portals, and the Report Designer

In order to access ReportIt within the Entities app, users must be licensed to do so.

After purchasing the license and installation:

• Self-hosted users will be provided with login details for the Administrator Dashboard, where they can manage their data models and configuration.
• Hosted users, can access the ReportIt Model Editor to manage their data models.

All users can access the ReportIt Report Portal to design reports. The Entities ReportIt Portal, which enables users (with the permitted access rights) to view reports within the Entities app, can then be created.

We'll take a look at each in the following sections.

Administrator Dashboard

The Administrator Dashboard is only available to self-hosted clients.

The Administrator Dashboard is distinct from the Entities app and so will require additional credentials to log in.

Once logged in, the Administrator Dashboard Home Page displays. Here, ReportIt Administrators can create Data Sets, Data Models, Users and User Roles, as well as Scheduling and other configuration. However, the Administrator Dashboard Home page is typically only accessed by the IT department for configuration purposes.

For assistance with using the Administrator Dashboard, comprehensive help can be accessed by selecting the ? icon (located in the top right-hand corner).

Administrators can also access the ReportIt Report Portal by selecting the Report Portal option (located in the top left-hand corner).

Model Editor

The ReportIt Model Editor is only available to hosted clients.

Similar to the Administrator Dashboard, the Model Editor is used to amend the Data Model only (for example, view and rename sections/tables and attributes, add new sections/tables and attributes, connect sections/tables, etc.).

Report Portal

The ReportIt Report Portal is distinct from the Entities app, but requires no additional login credentials, as secure Single-Sign On via Entities is in place. Access to The ReportIt Report Portal can be determined via Entities security Access Groups.

Once in the ReportIt Report Portal, users can create the reports they want to view inside Entities.

The Entities ReportIt Portal is located, and can be assigned to any desired area within, the Entities app.
