Exporting action items from BoardEffect Minutes to Excel

You can export action items to Microsoft Excel for distribution. When you export action items, you can choose whether to include the actions from a single minutes document or from several documents within a workroom. This topic explains how to export your action items.

  1. To open the export menu, select the Export icon from the Minute Taker or Action Items page.

    Note

    You can also select Export from the Minutes Manager hub to open the export menu.

  2. A menu opens with several options. To export action items without the document text, select one of the following options:

    • Export Actions Only: Exports a list of action items, excluding the minutes document text, to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. If you select this option, you can skip to Step 5.
    • Consolidated Actions Report: Exports action items from multiple workrooms. The action items from all documents in the selected workroom are included in the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
  3. If you choose the “Consolidated Actions Report” option, a dialog appears with two options:

    • Include All: You can export the action items from every document in all of your workrooms.
    • Include Only: You can select one or several workrooms to export action items. The action items from every document in the selected workroom(s) are included.
  4. Select Export.

  5. After making your selection, the file downloads. Exported minutes documents include the following, if present in the source document:

    • Group (Consolidated Actions Report only)
    • Title (Consolidated Actions Report only)
    • Meeting date
    • Status
    • Due date
    • Action item
    • Assignees
    • Section location in document
    • Notes
    • Logo (not included in Consolidated Actions Reports)
