Enabling drill capabilities on charts
In the Reports app, if you create a Drill Anywhere or Drill Through report, you can also allow your Report Readers to move from general to more detailed information in charts. The ability for Report Readers to navigate from general to more detailed information in charts depends on the chart type.
How it works
Charts automatically inherit the drill relationships that you previously set up on the Related Content tab in the report. Drill capabilities for charts in Drill Anywhere reports are automatically enabled.
To provide drill capabilities for a chart in a Drill Through report, you need to:
- ensure the fields and parameters set up in your report match those in your chart
- enable drill capabilities on your chart
Once you enable drill capabilities on a chart, Report Readers can click on a segment of a chart and navigate to another chart or table for more detailed information.

Permissions
Only Report Admins and Report Writers can enable drill capabilities on a chart.
Enable drill capabilities on a chart

From the Launchpad home page (www.highbond.com), select the Reports app to open it.
If you are already in Diligent One, you can use the left-hand navigation menu to switch to the Reports app.
- Open the appropriate report and click Edit > Charts.
- Click on the thumbnail of the appropriate chart at the bottom of the screen.
The chart displays in the preview window.
- In the chart formatting toolbar, click Settings
.The Chart Settings dialog box opens.

Expand the Drill Through section, and configure any of the following settings, and click
to close the dialog box:Setting Option Description Drills Enabled All all of the compatible Drill Through relationships, defined on the Related Content tab, will be used on this chart One only one of the Drill Through relationships, defined on the Related Content tab, will be used on this chart Enabled Relationship List of available reports defines which Drill Through report relationship is used on the chart
All others relationships are ignored for the selected chart.
NoteThis option is only available when Drills Enabled is set to One.
Drill Through Type Automatic the Drill Through relationships to be used on this chart are automatically set up
For this to happen, all the join fields defined in each relationship on the Related Content tab must be included in the chart.
The defined hyperlink field in the relationship is ignored as the link is automatically applied.
Full the Drill Through relationships to be used in this report are set up with the linked fields used in the chart
All other defined linked fields are omitted as part of the drill capabilities.
The hyperlink field is used as defined on the Related Content tab.
