View and Check Status of Forms E-Filed to CRO

Once you completed e-filing for a form, you can view the status of the form and also request a status update from the Companies Registration Office (CRO) in Ireland.

  1. View the status of e-filed documents.

    1. Open the company record and select Documents > Working Documents. Find the form and select Open folder icon.

    2. Go to Working Documents > Electronic Filing and choose either Efiled By Me, Efiled Today, or Efiled This Week depending on your needs.

A list of forms and documents and their e-filing statuses display.

  2. Check for a status update on the forms.

    You have the following options:

    1. Use the Send and Receive option on the Electronic Filing page to check for status updates on multiple forms.

    2. To request a status update on a selected form with Submitted status, use the Check for EF Status Update option available in the Document Details and the Documents List.

      Note

If you see forms in Diligent Entities with Submission Not Found status that you can see in CRO CORE as submitted, use the Reset EF Message option for the form to request an update on its status from CRO.

  3. Take action based on the status of the document.

Once the form has been formally submitted to the CRO, it is processed and either returned, rejected, or registered:

    • If a submitted form is returned, errors and omissions have been identified. These need to be rectified before the form can be resubmitted for processing. Resubmissions of B1s and A1s to the CRO are supported in Diligent Entities. Other forms can be regenerated and refiled under a new submission number.

    • If a submitted form is rejected, presenters are notified and a new form must be created, signed, and submitted for processing to the CRO. Reasons for any returned or rejected forms can be viewed in the Message field on the Document Details page. Refer to Recreate a Document from a Pending Event.

Refer to Filing Annual Returns - Common errors for more information about the most common reasons for sent back or rejected forms.

    • A registered form has been processed, formerly accepted by, and registered with the CRO. Once the form is registered, the related pending event can be actioned in Diligent Entities. Open the company record and select Compliance > Pending Events. Find the event and select Action Event from the options. Once the event is actioned, the form is both electronically filed with the CRO and updated in Diligent Entities.

Refer to CRO Electronic Filing Statuses for a list and explanations of all e-filing statuses.
