Working with processes
A process is a systematic series of steps undertaken to achieve a specific goal within an organization. Processes are designed to help streamline operations and deliver consistent outcomes.
Examples of processes may include operations management, quality assurance, and financial reporting. In the Risk Manager app, you can create these processes and link them to risks and controls.
Adding a process
To add a process:

From the Launchpad home page (www.diligentoneplatform.com), select the Risk Manager app to open it.
If you are already in Diligent One, you can use the left-hand navigation menu to switch to the Risk Manager app.

- Go to the Process tab and select + Add Process.
The Add Process dialog box opens.
- In the Add Process panel, enter a name for your process.
- Add any additional details, and select one of the following options:
- Add Process to save the process and close the panel.
- Save & Add New to save the process and add another one.
The process is now created.
- (Optional) To view or edit additional details, select the process name to open the process details page.
Moving a process through different workflows
After creating a process, you can advance it through different workflow states based on your requirements. Some workflow states may require specific fields to be completed. Make sure the required information is filled in before advancing the process.
To move a process from Define to Planning state:

From the Launchpad home page (www.diligentoneplatform.com), select the Risk Manager app to open it.

Go to the Process tab, and select the name of the process you want to work with.
The process page opens with the Details tab.
- Enter the information about the process, including the ID, description, owner.
- Select Save Changes.
- In the top-right corner, select Plan.
The workflow status changes to Planning.
Note
You can follow the steps above to move the process through the remaining workflow states as needed.
Linking a process to other objects
A process can be linked to risks and controls within your organization. Capturing this relationship helps establish effective risk assessment and mitigation.
To link a process to other objects:

From the Launchpad home page (www.diligentoneplatform.com), select the Risk Manager app to open it.

Go to the Process tab, and select the name of the process you want to work with.
The process details page opens with the Details tab.
- Navigate to the Relationship tab and do the following based on what you want to link:
- To link a risk:
- Select Link risk.
In the Link object dialog box:
- The Type and Relation fields are preselected.
- In the Related To field select the risk and then select Link.
- To link a control:
- Select Link control.
In the Link object dialog box:
- The Type and Relation fields are preselected.
- In the Related To field select the control and then select Link.
The process is now linked to the selected objects and will appear in the Relationships tab.
- To link a risk:
Note
When you link objects, a bidirectional link is created. For example, when you link a process to a risk, the relationship is visible in the Relationship tab of both, the process and the risk. If the links are not displaying correctly, contact Support for assistance.
Unlink a process from other objects
You can remove existing relationships between a process and associated assets or other library objects.
To unlink a process relationship:

From the Launchpad home page (www.diligentoneplatform.com), select the Risk Manager app to open it.

Go to the Process tab, and select the name of the process you want to work with.
The process page opens with the Details tab.
- Go to the Relationship tab and select the unlink icon
next to the object you want to unlink.
- In the Unlink relationship dialog box, select Unlink Object. The object is removed from the process.
Associating a process with an organizational unit
You can associate a process in Risk Manager with one or more organizational units. These units constitute the foundation of the enterprise, linking diverse organizational entities across different company segments. This hierarchy also stores departmental and business unit details.
To associate a process with an organizational unit:

From the Launchpad home page (www.diligentoneplatform.com), select the Risk Manager app to open it.

Under the Processestab, select the name of the process that you want to update.
The process details page is displayed.

Under the Details tab, in the Related Org Unit field, search for and select one or more preconfigured organizational units you want to associate with the process.

Select Apply Selection.

Select Save Changes.
The process is updated. On the Risk Manager home page, under the Processes tab, you can view the associated organizational unit in the Org Unit column.

The organizational unit hierarchy is preconfigured by the System Admins in your organization. For more information about the hierarchies in the organizational structure, contact your System Admin.

If you are a System Admin, navigate to Platform Settings and click Org Structure, to view and manage the list of preconfigured organizational units. To learn more about organizational units, see Organizational Structure.
Deleting a process
To delete a process:

From the Launchpad home page (www.diligentoneplatform.com), select the Risk Manager app to open it.
If you are already in Diligent One, you can use the left-hand navigation menu to switch to the Risk Manager app.

Go to the Process tab, and select the name of process you want to delete.
The process page opens with the Details tab.
- In the top-right, select More options
and then select Delete.
- In the confirmation dialog box, select Delete.
The process is deleted.
