Ireland Beneficial Ownership: Validate and View Beneficial Owners Record

Validate Beneficial Owners Record

In Diligent Entities, after you have identified and entered the Beneficial Owners for an entity, you should validate whether the Beneficial Owners particulars are complete and correct. This is important because the Beneficial Owners particulars will be disclosed in the Register of Beneficial Ownership (RBO) in Ireland.

To verify if there are missing details:

  1. Open the relevant company records.

  2. Navigate to Compliance > Validations in the company banner. The Validations page displays.

  3. In Type column, look for those validations that are categorised as Error. This label is used to flag any statutory data that still needs to be recorded in Diligent Entities.

  4. Next, in the Area column, select the summary line for the Beneficial Owners record to open.

  5. Select Edit, then scroll down to relevant section to complete the missing statutory data. To learn about entering data in the Beneficial Ownership record, refer to Ireland Beneficial Ownership: Manually Populate Beneficial Owners Record.

Note

The system can only perform the check against those Beneficial Owner records for an entity that have been entered in Diligent Entities. If no Beneficial Owner records have been added, a different error will display in Compliance > Validations.

View Beneficial Owners Record

You can view the Beneficial Owners records that have been created as follows:

  1. Find the report in Documents, including the Beneficial Owners names and nature of interest.

  2. Find the records in Ownership > Beneficial Owners. Each registered beneficial owner will have one record, including name, nature of interest and so on.

Select the Open Folder against the relevant name or select the summary line to view or edit the beneficial owner details.
