Summarize documents with AI

Use AI to generate detailed document summaries so you can quickly understand content without the need to read the entire file. After a summary is generated it can be viewed by anyone who has access to the document.

Prerequisites

• The document must be one of the supported file formats. The option will not be active for unsupported formats. For more information, go to Supported file formats.

• You need full viewing access to the document. Watermarked or restricted documents cannot be summarized.

Generate AI summary

1. In Diligent Data Room, go to the document you want to summarize.

2. Select the more options icon .

3. Select AI summary.

   The AI summary side panel opens.

4. Select Generate AI summary.

   The AI tool analyzes the document within the secure environment of Data Room.

   Tip

   • Large files may take a few moments to generate a summary. A pop up will notify you when your summary is ready.

   • An icon appears next to the document title to indicate a summary has been generated.

5. Select View AI summary from the more options menu.

   The AI summary side panel opens, displaying the newly generated summary.

   1. To copy the summary, select Copy.

   2. To delete and start again, select Delete.

   3. To go back to the original document, select Open original document.
