Enable the Electronic Filing Profile for Australia
The username and password for the EDGE portal received from the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) must be added in a Diligent Entities electronic filing profile.
Before you start
Make sure you have an account in the EDGE system and a registered agent number. Refer to Set Up Electronic Filing for Australia for more information.
-
Go to System Tools > List Manager > Electronic Filing Profiles.
System Tools are available to users with administrator privileges.
-
Find the EFAU - AU Electronic Filing profile in the list and select Open
.
The Electronic Filing Profile wizard displays.
-
In the Profile Status section, make sure the Set profile as active and Set profile as default for country options are selected. Select Next.
Leave the values in the Electronic Filing Profile section unchanged.
The Details page of the wizard displays.
-
On the Details page of the wizard, enter the credentials for the EDGE system and the registered agent number. Select Next.
Leave the rest of the fields unchanged.
Important
EDGE electronic submissions from Diligent Entities are sent through the 5610 port. Some firewalls may block this port by default. System administrators must allow outbound communication on the 5610 port.
- On the next two pages, select Next to skip the digital certificate settings.
Digital certificates are no longer required to lodge company registrations. Users can't renew the digital certificate any more and they don't have to upload one to the system. Diligent Entities no longer checks for or sends the certificate when users lodge company registrations to the ASIC.
- On the Proxy Settings page of the wizard, enter the proxy settings. Select Next.
Note
Hosted clients are not required to enter any proxy details.
Complete these settings if your organisation uses a proxy server to connect to the internet. Proxy settings are provided by your company's IT department.

Automatically invoke Send & Receive
If selected, the system automatically performs send and receive and prompts for an update on any documents that have already been sent.
Note
Hosted clients must not select this option. If automatic send and receive is required, contact the Diligent Support Team for assistance.

Leave blank, not applicable.

-
Select Finish to complete the wizard.
Diligent Entities is now connected to the EDGE system for electronic filing. If you want to check whether the connection works, you can go to Working Documents > Electronic Filing and select Send and Receive. Move through EF Send and Receive wizard. The status should shows as Completed on the Finish page.
Note
Once the connection is established, the EDGE account password is updated in the system, that is, the original password is not valid any more.
What's next?
Self-hosted clients must complete the steps outlined in Enable Email Notifications for Electronic Filing to receive email notifications.
Once you have completed all the necessary steps outlined in Set Up Electronic Filing for Australia, users can start to generate and e-file forms to ASIC.
