Upload Supporting Documents for UK Incorporations

You might want to include other documents with a UK incorporation such as any bespoke or amended articles or documents to justify the use of sensitive or identical names.

The amended or bespoke memorandum and articles of association as well as other supporting documents can all be electronically filed to Companies House provided that they are in the Working Documents section at the time of the filing.

Before you start

Make sure you have created an incorporation. Refer to Create an Incorporation to learn more.

In order for Diligent Entities to know that it is to send a supporting document, ensure that the relevant options have been selected in the Incorporation Details. For example, if the incorporation has a sensitive word in its name or it uses the same name as another company in the group, make sure the Company Name Restrictions option is selected.

To upload supporting documents as PDFs:

  1. Open the incorporation record and go to Documents > Working Documents.

  2. Select Wizards > Import Document to open the Import Document wizard.

  3. Complete the wizard.

Find and select the required PDF documents.

Important

Make sure that the supporting documents use the correct naming convention in the Description field for Diligent Entities to correctly identify and e-file them. The following names must be used as written here for the documents to be sent:

  • Articles of Association
  • Justification for Sensitive Word
  • Justification for Same Name

For more information about how to complete the wizard, refer to Import Documents.

What's next?

Once you have added all the required details and uploaded all supporting documents, you can generate the incorporation documentation by choosing Wizards > Incorporate Electronically on the Incorporation Details page inside the incorporation record.
