Filter Options |
Filter structure after structure built |
When you filter the group structure, use this option to highlight entities that the filter excludes but must be included in the structure because, for example, their child entities are part of the filter. Such highlighted entities display in brackets and in italics. For example, if the Get all other parents/owners and the Include as Additional Data options are selected, you can select this option to highlight the other parents of subsidiaries that are not connected to the company you're running the structure for to make it clear that these entities represent additional information and they are not part of the legal structure. |
Only show primary parent, even if multiple parents exist |
Select this option for subsidiaries to display only once in the group structure even when they have multiple parents. By default, if a company is a subsidiary of more than one company, that is, it has one or more parents, it appears in the group structure multiple times. If this option is selected, only the occurrence of the subsidiary owned by the primary parent, that is, the largest ownership of the subsidiary displays in the group structure. If there is no primary parent, that is, all parents of the subsidiary have equal ownership in it, only the first occurrence of the subsidiary displays in the group structure. If an entity appears as a subsidiary in the group structure, but also appears as an other parent of another entity elsewhere in the structure, that is, it has a holding in that entity outside of the group, that parent occurrence of the entity is still displayed even when this option is selected. |
|
Show by Beneficial Owner |
By default, the legal structure is based on registered holdings. Use this option to show beneficial holdings instead. |
|
Show by capital ownership |
Select this option to view the structure by percentage of capital ownership as opposed to voting percentage. The resulting structure shows shareholders and their capital contribution and it also includes any non-voting shareholders and any capital-based corporate relationships. If there is both a shareholding and a corporate relationship between the same parties within the structure, then, by default, the corporate relationship takes precedence over the shareholding relationship. Note If this option is enabled, the legal structure excludes the entities where the capital weighting is set to zero. |
|
Ignore corporate relationships |
By default, the legal structure shows corporate relationships. Use this option to exclude all corporate relationships from the legal structure. |
|
Calculate circular and self-ownership percentages |
Use this option to calculate and include circular or self-ownership scenarios in ultimate ownership percentages. Note Circular ownership calculations are only supported when generating down group structures, that is, when the Structure below option is selected. |
|
Filter by Percentage Ownership |
Minimum Percentage Ownership |
You can specify a minimum percentage of ownership. If specified, the group structure only displays holdings where the ownership percentage exceeds the specified minimum. This option is also available on the Structure tab. |
Maximum Percentage Ownership |
You can specify a maximum percentage of ownership. If specified, the group structure only displays holdings where the ownership percentage does not exceed the specified maximum. This option is also available on the Structure tab. |
|
Type of Percentage Ownership |
Select the type of ownership the minimum and maximum percentage you define in the respective fields applies to. You can set it to apply to the percentage of ownership the immediate or the ultimate parent holds in the company. |
|
Percentage ownership Dps |
Use this field to define the number of decimal places that display in the ownership percentages. |
|
Show 0% Ownership in 'Legal Group Structure' |
Show 0% Ownership |
It is possible to create corporate relationships with 0% ownership. This option only applies to legal group structures but not to user-defined ones. Note If you enter a value in the Minimum Percentage Ownership field, besides the corporate relationships with an ownership greater than or equal to that percentage, the corporate relationships with 0% ownership are also included in the group structure. |
Filter by Control |
Effective Control of Company by Ultimate Parent |
With this option, you can filter based on effective control, which by default, equals to a parent entity having an ultimate interest of at least 50% in another entity. When you select this option, the Control From field displays where you can enter the percentage. Note If effective control is left at the default 50%, the entity immediately below the 50% subsidiary is also included in the legal group structure, but entities below it are ignored. Thus, to include entities where effective control is 50% or higher, set the value to 51%. |
Alternate Control |
Include Alternate Control Relationships |
Use this option to display alternate control type corporate relationships in the group structure. Once selected, the Control Relationship Types list displays, where you can select the type of alternate control relationships you want to include in the group structure. Note If you select no relationship types, all types display in the group structure. |
Shown a maximum no of levels of levels of |
Select required number of levels to display |
Use this option to specify a maximum number of levels to be displayed in the group structure. For example, if you only want to see immediate parents or subsidiaries in the group structure, select 2 here. The default setting is 99. |
Chain From |
Chain From |
This option enables you to build a structure from an entity looking upwards and downwards at the same time. Use the Wand to select the company's ultimate parent. The group structure displays all subsidiaries of the company in normal fonts, with the direct chain to the ultimate parent shown in italics. The generated group structure shows the up structure from the ultimate parent to the company you're in, which is only part of the overall structure above the company. To see the full above structure, generate a group structure using the Structure above option. To see the full up and down structure, run a group structure using the Structure above and below option. Refer to Run a group structure to learn more. Note This option works in conjunction with the Filter records after structure built option, which must be enabled if using this filter. |
All Other Parents/Owners |
Get all other parents/owners |
Select this option to include all other parents and owners in the group structure, that is, view ownership outside of the group, including joint ventures and individuals. When this option is selected, the group structure displays all immediate parents for every company including parents that are not part of the group structure being run. Note This option is applicable to down group structures only. |
Direct Parent |
You can select to always include the direct parents, never include them and only include them if they are other parents. If you select to always include direct parents, the name of the direct parent, that is, the company that has direct ownership of a subsidiary within the group, is output for every company in the group structure under the All Parents subheading. This results in the parent company's name being repeated in the group structure. If you select to never include direct parents, the names of the direct parents are not displayed anywhere in the group structure. However, the names of any other parents with ownership of subsidiaries outside of the group are still included under the All Other Parents subheading. If you select to only include if other parents, the name of a subsidiary's direct parent only displays under the All Other Parents subheading if that subsidiary also has ownership by a parent, or parents, outside of the group. |
|
Include as Additional Data |
Select this option to include other parents as additional data in the group structure, that is, to have them display in the tree under the entity with an All Parents or All Other Parents subheading. Alternatively, you can add the All Other Parents field to the table on the Display tab. |
By Entity
The entity filters allow you to run the group structure for entities that belong to certain user groupings, divisions, partners, sets, batches, or countries as well as for companies that are, for example, of a specific status such as active. You can also use these filters to include historical records or to exclude individuals and overseas entities from the group structure.
Note
When you exclude data from the group structure, make sure to select the Filter structure after structure built option on the By Details tab to get the expected result. That option picks up all members of the group even when they are not part of the original filter.
Additional Data
This section of the filters allows you to include various additional information including registrations in jurisdictions, branches, doing business as, and also known as. You can also choose to remove any companies that do not have any additional data by selecting the relevant option in this section. You can also select to display the additional data before the subsidiaries in the group structure.
If you select the Add sub-headings for each included section option, the additional data displays under a subheading in the structure to make it easier to read. for example, if you select to include branches, they are listed under the relevant entity under the Branches subheading.
The option to include appointments is particularly useful to show the appointments for all companies in the group structure in one place. Selections can be made for appointments generally or for selected appointment types only. You may include particular appointment types with various sort orders or even select one particular appointee. Finally, you can include all other data library items, and you also have the option to filter them by summary, type, status and assigned to.
