Searches
DiligentEntities gives you several search options to find exactly what you’re looking for.

You can preview selected information about an entity without leaving the search results – for instructions, go to Preview an entity.
If your organization has signed up for AI features in Entities, you can retrieve key information about entities without having to search for it. To find out more, go to Entities AI Assistant.
The different searches are available on different tabs and the Company Search displays by default.
Each search returns either a list of records found or indicates that no records match the specified search criteria. Returned items are listed and display as hyperlinks that can be selected to further explore the entity record.
A number of options are available on each search page. The following table provides a brief description of each.

Basic Search |
The Basic Search tab enables users to search with basic entity details as filters, for example, name, registration number if they want to search for companies, countries or user groupings. Refer to Entity searches: basic and more for more information. |

More |
The More tab can be used to expand the search filters so that searches incorporate additional fields to be more specific. Refer to Entity searches: basic and more for more information. |

Validate |
With the Validate option, users can run validation on multiple entities at the same time. The validation results are presented grouped by the entities. |

Wizards |
The Wizards change in line with the data or results currently displayed. When no search results are displayed, the Wizards show options for new entities to be created. When search results are present, the Wizards present batch options for the displayed entities. |

Reports |
The Reports option is only present when search results display on screen and shows report options for the search results. |
|
Export |
The Export option enables users to export data into various formats (XLSX, XLS, CSV, Text, DOCX, PDF) where applicable. |

Sort |
The Sort option enables users to re-order their search results. |
|
Search |
Users can use the Search option to execute the search once they finished entering search criteria. Leave the search criteria blank if you want to see all entities on a specific tab. |

Pin |
The Pin as Default Search option saves the search currently defined on screen as the default search. Refer to Default search pin for more information. |

Clear |
The Clear button is used to clear the search filters, so that a new search can be initiated. |

Back to Top |
The Back to Top option enables the users to return to the top of the search page without having to use the scroll bar. |
|
Checkbox |
A checkbox is available next to each entity. Users can select these checkboxes to select the entities to be included in an operation, for example, a batch event or report. |

Show Details |
The Show Details option is available for each entity and is used to open the related entity. |
|
Options Menu |
The Options Menu is available for each entity and presents additional options that, when actioned, only impact the related entity. |

Available searches
A number of different searches display as tabs across the top of the screen and are available for selection.
Search type | Description |
---|---|
Companies |
Company Search is used to search for, filter, select, and report on the companies managed in the application. |
Individuals |
Individual Search is used to search for, filter, select, and report on the individuals recorded in the application. Individuals are typically appointees or shareholders of companies stored in the application. |
Other Entities |
Other Entity Search is used to search for, filter, select, and report on third party or non-group companies that are not managed in the application but need to be recorded in it like corporate appointees, corporate shareholders, joint shareholders, or branch offices. |
All Entities |
All Entities Search displays a list of all entity records managed in the application. As with the other searches, these records can be searched through, filtered, selected and reported on. |
World Search |
World Search displays as an interactive world map and can be used to search for all entities by geographical area. For more information, refer to World search. |
Advanced Searches |
Advanced Searches can be used to search for entities by a previous name, or find shared addresses or shared contacts. It is also possible to access the Batch Manager, search online and, if licensed to do so, search for an incorporation. For more information, refer to Advanced searches. |
Committees |
Committees Search is used to search for, filter, select, and report on the committees managed in the application. Select Export to download the search in a specified format. |
Partnerships |
Partnerships Search is used to search for, filter, select, and report on the partnerships managed in the application. Select Wizards to create a new partnership, or the Export option to export the search in a specified format. |
