Electronically File Forms with Diligent Entities

You can file forms electronically from Diligent Entities in certain jurisdictions.

You can e-file forms to the following government bodies:

  • Companies House in the United Kingdom
  • Companies Registration Office (CRO) in Ireland
  • Australian Securities and Investments Commissions (ASIC) in Australia
  • ICIS XML Filing Service in Delaware, United States

To get started with electronic filing:

  1. Set up Diligent Entities to electronically file forms in the required jurisdiction.

For more information refer to one of the following:

  2. Create records for the companies you want to electronically file forms for and change them to live mode to start producing forms.

Refer to Create a company and Change between setup mode and live mode to learn more.

Alternatively, you can download the company data available at the relevant regulatory body. For more information refer to the following topics:

  3. Run validation checks on the company.

Prior to generating any documentation, it is recommended that you validate the company details to ensure that nothing has been missed that would be required for the documentation to be filed successfully. To check this, go to Compliance > Validations and review the list of validations. Add any missing information as required.

  4. Generate the form you want to e-file.

You can generate forms by using the relevant wizard for companies in live mode. For example, appoint a director, allot shares, or generate a confirmation statement. To learn more about live mode, refer to Setup mode and live mode.

Make sure you save the event as pending and action the event once you have confirmation that the electronic filing has been approved. If the form is rejected, you can easily regenerate the form once you amend the required details. Refer to Recreate a Document from a Pending Event.

Use the Save as pending, then validate event option to learn if there are any errors or missing information. If the application notifies you of missing information outside of the event details, that is, information that is not requested during the wizard, you can select the second action option, Save as a pending event. This option does not perform any validation checks but allows you to save the event with the details you have entered so far and add any missing information later.

  5. Define signatories for the form.

You have multiple options to define a signatory for the forms you want to electronically file. Refer to Define a Signatory for a Single Form to learn more.

  6. E-file the form.

You can e-file the form at the end of the wizard or from Working Documents. For more information refer to the section on the Help Centre relevant to your jurisdiction.

  7. Complete a send and receive.

To send the forms to the relevant regulatory body and to get status updates on e-filed forms, go to Working Documents > Electronic Filing and select Send and Receive, then complete the wizard.
