Record Initial Appointments

Use the Initial Appointments option in the Incorporation Banner to record the initial appointments for the company you are about to incorporate.

  1. Open the incorporation record and select Initial Appointments in the banner.

  2. On the Initial Appointments page, select Appoint to open the Appoint wizard.

  3. On the Appoint page of the wizard, select the entity you want to appoint.

    Use the Search field to select whether to search in individuals, companies, and so on. In the By field you can specify what detail to search by, such as name or quick reference. The Advanced Search gives you more options to refine your search such as who the entity is managed by. Enter the name of the entity in the Begins with or Contains field and select Search. If the entity you want to appoint does not have a record in the system, select New and create it.

    Note

    Whether the search is a contains or a begins with type of search depends on your user preferences. Refer to Change User Preferences to learn more.

  4. In the Date and Position section of the page, enter the event date and select the position you want to appoint the entity to, then select Next.

    You can also select a job title, if required.

  5. (Optional) On the Replace with page, select the entity that is supposed to replace the initially appointed individual once the incorporation is converted into a company. Select Next.

    If you don't want to replace the initial appointments, skip this step.

  6. On the Finish page, select Finish to close the wizard.

What's next?

Repeat this process for each of your initial officers. If you want to edit or remove the appointments, select Options options against the officer in question to access the relevant option.
