Create Sub-Chart Settings

You can create and apply different settings to each sub-chart you create and thus further customise the data in your sub-charts.

By default, every sub-chart you create uses the settings you applied to the main chart, also known as the Main Chart Settings. You can create different settings for each sub-chart you have or you can use the same settings for different sub-charts.

To create new settings for a sub-chart you created, complete the steps below.

  1. Select the sub-chart you want to create settings for.

You can switch between the main chart and the sub-charts using the dropdown menu in the top left of the visualisation canvas.

  2. At the top of the Edit Panel, select Settings three dots menu next to Main Chart Settings.

  3. Select New or Clone depending on whether you want to create new settings from scratch or you want to build on the main chart settings.

  4. In the New Settings or Clone Settings dialogue that displays, enter a name for the new settings.

  5. Select Create.

The setting you just created is now available in the dropdown list at the top of the Edit Panel and it is the selected setting.

  6. Customise your sub-chart.

Use filtering, grouping, sorting, apply conditional formatting, change what displays in the entity boxes or customise the ownership relationships in the chart. Any settings you make in the Edit Panel are applied to the selected sub-chart setting.

  7. (Optional) Save the settings you created.

You can save the sub-chart settings you create for later use for yourself and also share them with others. Refer to Save and Share Settings to learn more.

What's next?

You can apply the settings you created to a different sub-chart by selecting the sub-chart from the list of sub-charts and then selecting the settings from the list of available settings.

Apart from saving the settings for later use, you can rename, clone or delete any settings you created using the corresponding option in the Settings menu.
