Chart assist

Chart assist is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) feature. For information on how AI features use Entities data, refer to Entities AI transparency notice.

AI features are inactive by default. Before you can use them, your organization’s administrator must provision them for you. For information on how to activate AI features, refer to Managing AI features.

About Chart assist

With Chart assist, you can create optimal conditional formatting of your Group Structure charts with minimal effort. Chart assist can propose formatting for entities or for relationships. After Chart assist creates the formatting, you can further edit and adjust it to your needs.

Create conditional formatting with Chart assist

Chart assist creates conditional formatting for one type of chart element at a time: entity boxes or relationship connectors.

1. To access Chart assist, go to the group structure you want to create the conditional formatting for.
2. In the Edit Panel, select the Conditional Formatting tab.
3. In the Conditional Formatting section, select a tab depending on where you want to apply conditional formatting.
   • To apply conditional formatting to entity boxes, select Entities.
   • To apply conditional formatting to connector lines, select Relationships.
4. In the Conditional Formatting bar, select the AI icon .

   The Chart assist window opens.

5. From the Select a predefined option dropdown menu, select how you want Chart assist to format the chart.
6. Select Create.

   Chart assist starts generating conditional formatting rules. It may take up to 60 seconds.

7. When the AI-assisted conditional formatting is ready, Chart assist displays a message in the bottom-right corner. You can use the new formatting or discard it.
   • To use the new formatting, select Apply.
   • To discard the new formatting, select Cancel.
8. (Optional) If you created conditional formatting rules that you have not applied to the chart and you select to apply the AI-generated formatting, Chart assist displays an additional message.
   • To see both your unsaved rules and the AI-generated formatting without applying them to the chart, select Save changes. You can review the conditional formatting rules in the Conditional Formatting panel and apply them later.
   • To save and apply both your unsaved rules and the AI-generated formatting, select Save and apply.
9. (Optional) If you make changes to conditional formatting while Chart assists generates rules, you can still select Apply in the Chart assist message. Chart assist then displays an additional message with options.
   • To overwrite your unsaved changes with AI-generated formatting, select Overwrite.
   • To discard AI-generated rules and keep your unsaved changes, select Cancel.

When you apply the AI-assisted conditional formatting, the new rules override any existing rules. They are visible in the Conditional Formatting panel. You can add, edit, or remove rules to adjust the formatting.

To share the chart with others on your team or print it out for a meeting, use the export option that best fits your needs. When you export the chart, any rules you added display in the chart legend provided that a legend is included in the export. Refer to the topics on how to create exports.
