Group Structure Visualisation
With Group Structure Visualisation you can build and manage group structures of corporate ownership relations among entities in a customisable and dynamic organisational chart.
The options available to you depend on the Diligent Entities package your organisation has:
-
With a Group Structure Standard package, you can access Group Structure Visualisation in view-only mode. You can use the entity search and export the chart.
- With a Group Structure Pro package, you can also customise the chart in addition to what is available in the Standard package. You can filter, group, and sort the chart and can also change the layout and content displayed.
Contact your Customer Success Manager to learn more about these packages.
Your Group Structure Visualisation options are not only determined by your organisation's package type but are also influenced by your user permissions. Refer to User Role Rights for more information.

Note
Access to this option is dependent on your configuration.
Group Structure Visualisation page
The Group Structure Visualisation page comprises of the following main areas:
-
The Edit panel, where you apply your chart settings.
-
The visualisation canvas with the top and bottom toolbars.
- A panel on the right displays when any of the icons on the toolbar are selected. Example: Stored Charts.
- Primary Parent name in the group structure.
Edit panel
The Edit Panel contains the Filter, Conditional Formatting, Group, Sort, Attributes, and Ownership options.
Tip
The numbers in brackets next to the icons display the number of options that have been applied.
Example: For a group structure that includes companies only, the Attributes icon displays four by default as the Name, Country, Country flag, and Interest are displayed.
Select the Close side panel icon to hide the Edit Panel and fully expand the canvas when you visualise the group structure.
Visualisation canvas
The Visualisation Canvas contains the visualised group chart and the navigation and layout options.
By default, only the first level or direct ownership to the ultimate parent is displayed in the structure. The name of the entity and country of incorporation are displayed in the entity boxes. The interest details are displayed next to the entity box.
- Select any entity in the chart to highlight the paths to its direct and indirect parents.
- Expand the chart by selecting any entity box that has a downward arrow. The selected entity's subsidiaries are displayed and the chart adjusts based on the new boxes.
- Collapse the chart by selecting the same entity box again.
- Expand or collapse different parts of the chart or the entire chart by selecting a parent and choosing the Expand icon
or the Collapse icon
in the toolbar. These icons are disabled by default and are enabled when an entity box is selected.
Note
System performance optimisation restricts expansion to a maximum of 500 subsidiaries for a chosen entity. If the selected entity has fewer than 500 immediate subsidiaries but exceeds 500 when including the next level, only the immediate subsidiaries will be shown. If the selected entity has over 500 immediate subsidiaries, all of them will be displayed, regardless of the total count.
- Use the PgUp and PgDn and the Ctrl + left arrow and Ctrl + right arrow keys on the keyboard to navigate around the chart or move page; this corresponds to the size of the canvas. Use the + and - to zoom in and out on the chart. You can also select a specific size by selecting the downward arrow next to the zoom percentage.
- Select the Show details icon
to open the record of a selected entity in a new tab. When you select an entity, the path to the ultimate parent is highlighted.
- Select the Centre icon
to reposition the structure into the centre of the canvas.
- Select theLayout Controls icon
to choose your preferred way of arranging the structure. Example: horizontally or vertically.
